Mauritius day one of arrival

We got through the passport control, and headed through the terminal, to find ourselves at another checkpoint... "Health Control Check" We passed... Puppy didn't!

After that we walked through, the day before we arrived on the 12th was their independance day so there were flags and lots of decorations through the airport, judging by the sign that said "40 ans" I imagine it's their 40th year of independance. There was also a lovely water feature with bamboo and lots of pots and things in the airport.

We collected our bags and headed out through to the exit, where we were met by a gentleman holding a "Mr/S Coleman" sign.... I wasn't aware I'd grown balls or that Badger had adopted the family name! lol!!!

We were then taken aside welcomed to the island and give a bottle of water each and a nice wet towel to have a wipe down with. Our bags were promptly taken and put on a trolley then a porter called to take them to the car! I holted the guy so that I could have a smoke outside the building before we went on our journey.

We were then walked to our car where our driver came out and met us welcomed us again to the island and put our bags in the car, and we both had the doors opened and closed for us on the car :) hehe!!! *FIRST CLASS!!!* We were then driven to the hotel which was almost an hours drive, our driver told us along the way all sorts of information about the island and about various place which we passed through including going over a HUUUUUGGEEE river!!!

We arrived at the hotel where our car doors were opened for us and our bags taken out of the car. The hotel staff took our bags and led us through to the reception room in the photograph page. We were sat down and given a chilled towel to wipe our faces with and given some kind of mango smoothie thing.

We then had to fill out some paperwork and were given our room key. The porter was instructed to take our bags to our room.

We were walked to our room which is loooovely and air conditioned with a mini bar :-p!!!

We walked past the spa and the games room and fitness centre and instructed where they were and that we could use them all.

We were each given a free treatment card for something which we shall report on at some point... vibra therapy or something :-S!

We then chilled out checked the room, took some pics of puppy messing around to show fay and mikey.

We each had a shower in the MASSIVE SHOWER it has rain bar setting and everything!!!

We then headed off to the restaurant for some lunch where we had a buffet lunch of Thai curry (Badger) and I had Beef... in... somekind of strange sauce... that's not the official term mind, and started drinking :-)....

After dinner we went for a little walk, via the beach bar to see what sort of food they had on the menu... we decided while we were there to sample more alcoholic beverages... :)

After all they are free :) (thanks mum and dad Oooh and GRANNY!!!)


We then went for a walk along the beach and a little paddle in the sea :-) then back to the room.

The beach is very nice but very coarse because of all the coral!!! YES SAZZY ACTUALLY WENT BARE FOOT IN THE SEA AND ON THE SAND...!!!!!!!!!!!

Badger had a small sleep and Sazzy went to upload some pictures to the internet and had a little chat with a few people on MSN who seemed everso jealous! hehe!!!

Sazzy went back and met up with Badger when he woke up and they got ready to go down for something to eat for the evening....

We arrived at the restaurant who didn't care that we were smart casual and sent us back to put on some "trousers" We took a walk down to see what the food was in the other restaurant and decided to go change. We went back and changed and headed back to the top restaurant...

While there we sampled Chili con carne, chicken satay, corn pancakes a few beers, with some lovely chocolate thing for pudding (BADGER) Fresh made pizza... (I didn't like what they were serving and had them make me a cheese and tomatoe one) I also tried something off badgers plate, had more vodka and had some NAAASTY chocolate thing (the one Badger liked)! We also tried a creme brulae that was marked down as a vanilla one... happened to be coconut... Luckey they didn't have that one back Yuck but Badger enjoyed it! We tried some battered apple with blackberry sauce which they told me was strawberry!!!!

After dinner we went to the bar and had a bit more drink, we then headed back to the room because I was tired and didn't feel too great! It had been a long day.

We got back to the room and I ran a bath and had all the candles round the bath... I fell asleep in the bath before I managed to light them lol!!!!

I then got out the bath and went to bed.

Niiiiiiiight... end of day one!!!!
